What has been assigned this week:

Island Replica

- Using mental images and descriptions from the novel create a colourful and creative picture of what you think the cay may look like.  You can also include a topographical picture of the island (picture of the island from above / map).
DUE: April 30th
 

Design a Cay Restaurant Menu

- Using food that Timothy and Phillip have had to eat on the island (Hint: pg 76/77 in Chapter 10), create a 2-page menu.  On page 1 include a creative name for your restaurant and maybe a picture.  On page 2 include two full course meals/beverages, listing and describing the foods.  Find or draw pictures to accompany (or represent) each meal.

We are into our next novel The Cay by Theodore Taylor

Students are compliling their assignments into a duotang in which they will hand in later in the unit.
For Monday Apr 15th, students should have their Stranded short stories complete to be handed in.

Les Misérables Essay

Students have received back their Hobbit 5-Paragraph essays to help them better understand how to write these essays.  Next week Students should have their outlines and 1st drafts ready to go midweek so that we can begin to peer-edit.
